about.
In my artistic pursuit, I look my understanding into the diverse dimensions of human existence, using my notes and writings as tools to navigate the complexities of my mind and the world. Journaling serves as a means of introspection and self-discovery, capturing my thoughts and emotions as I journey through life. Immersing myself in drawing, painting, music and writing, I discover a playful and poetic language to express my concerns and carve out an identity, exploring the vastness that translates to installations, sculptures or writing. Drawing inspiration from the artistic environment in Bolivia, and all th places I have lived in, I construct visual and sound narratives that defy conventional boundaries.
My art is rooted in producing personal and subversive works, exploring precariousness as a starting point. Embracing simulations and also breaking them, I question the blurred lines between reality and illusion, navigating liminal spaces shaped by physical migration, academic formation, and philosophical thinking as an experience. As an artist and educator, I make myself aware of the value of communicating through teaching as well as a perpetual learner, I embrace both good and bad ideas, recognising their potential to lead to new possibilities. Challenging established norms, I shape the irreverent and prioritise independence, answering only to myself in the creative process.
Negotiating with circumstances and finding meaning in the ephemeral, I employ found poetry and objects as integral components in my work. Experimenting with various media and materiality, my aim is to create art that prompts reflection and emotional connection with the viewer.
In essence, my art is a journey of self-discovery and identity exploration, rooted in music, writing, and the investigation of everyday life in landscapes in Bolivia and others I had the privilege to live in, from Asia, Europe to USA. Through found poetry, negotiation with circumstances, and a quest for transcendence, I shape the irreverent, challenging established conventions to create personal and subversive works that invite reflection and emotional connections.
